Video Sales Letter

Step 1: You should already have the Video Embedder plugin installed into Wordpress.

Step 2: In a new browser window, open the video that you want to insert.

Step 3: Here’s an example. Say you wanted to use a Youtube video. Find the video you wish to use and in the URL you’ll find the video ID (as shown below). At the bottom of this post you’ll find how to locate the video ID out of the URL from all supported video sources.

Step 4: Now that you have the video ID you can embed it into your Wordpress post. In order to do this you must first put tag lines before and after the video ID, depending on which video source you are using. The video source (Youtube in this case), is placed in brackets: [video source]Video ID Goes Here[/video source]. Below is the correct format to embed our Youtube video into the post.

Step 5: Our finished product. After putting the video source tag lines and the video ID in this is what it should appear as.

Step 1: Create and/or locate the URL of a custom background image

Step 2: From the Wordpress dashboard click “Manage > Pages …” and click on your sales letter page.

Step 3: If you’ve created your own custom background image; using the Wordpress image uploader, upload the background image you want to use.

Step 4: Copy the link URL of the image you just uploaded (on a Windows computer, highlight the URL and press Ctrl + C) or if you want to use a hosted image from a different location, simply copy that URL.

Step 3: In order to change the background image of a sales letter page you must first change the template to white. To change the template, scroll down to the bottom of the screen in the “Advanced Options” section, and click the drop down arrow next to “Page Template”, this will bring up a drop down box with many different templates… you want to select “Sales Letter - White”.

Step 4: In the “Advanced Options” section at the bottom of the page, click the drop down arrow next to “Custom Fields”. In the “Key” field type “bgimage” (without the quotes of course), in the “Value” field paste the URL of your custom background image (either the one you uploaded or a hosted image). Then click “Add Custom Field”.

Step 6: After you add your custom field click the “Save” button.

Step 1: Create a custom header image sized at: 740×120 pixels and save the image as a .jpg or .gif file.

Step 2: From the Wordpress dashboard click “Manage > Pages …” and click the title of the page you want to add a custom header image to.

Step 3: Using the Wordpress image uploader, upload the header image you want to use

Step 4: Copy the link URL of the image you just uploaded (on a Windows computer, highlight the URL and press Ctrl + C)

Step 5: In the “Advanced Options” section at the bottom of the page, click the drop down arrow next to “Custom Fields”. In the “Key” field type “headerimage” (without the quotes of course), in the “Value” field paste the URL you copied earlier. Then click “Add Custom Field”.

Step 6: After you add your custom field click the “Save” button.

Step 1: From the Wordpress dashboard, click “Write > Page …”.

Step 2: Give your page a title.

Step 3: Enter the content of your sales letter in the Wordpress post editor.

Step 4: Select a page template for your new page

Step 5: (Optional) upload a custom header image for your sales letter page.

Step 6: Click the “Publish” button on the right side of the screen.

Step 1: Download Video Sales Letter Theme.

Step 2: Unzip the videosalesletter.zip file.

Step 3: Upload the videosalesletter folder to the wp-content/themes folder.

Step 4: Login to your Wordpress dashboard.

Step 5: Click “Design”, then click “Themes”.

Step 6: Click the Video Sales Letter thumbnail image to activate the theme.
